Privacy Policy
How information is collected through our website, how it is used, and how to contact us about your privacy.
Last updated: October 9, 2026
Who this policy covers
This policy describes information collected through flengineeringllc.com and related inquiries submitted to Florida Engineering LLC, doing business as Lightning Engineering, and Gunderson Engineering LLC/PLLC when involved in your request. It covers website visitors, prospective clients, project contacts, newsletter subscribers and people who contact us about employment.
Other websites and services linked from this site may have their own privacy notices. Your engineering proposal or agreement separately defines the scope and terms of professional services.
Information you provide
- Contact information: your name, company or organization, email address, phone number, and mailing or billing address.
- Project and support details: property address, project name or number, relationship to the project, requested services, building details, questions, correspondence, and how you heard about us.
- Uploaded or emailed files: plans, drawings, photographs, reports, permit documents, completed order forms and other information you choose to send. These materials may contain information about owners, occupants, contractors or other project participants.
- Newsletter details: your email address and any other information you provide when you sign up.
- Employment inquiries: contact details, a résumé, qualifications and other information you choose to provide when asking about a position.
Provide only information relevant to your request and ensure you are authorized to share information about others. Do not send passwords, Social Security numbers or payment-card details through general inquiry forms or ordinary email.
How information is used
We use information you provide to respond to questions, evaluate project requests, prepare proposals, coordinate engineering services and inspections, provide project support, process orders and billing, and respond to employment inquiries. Website usage information helps us understand navigation, improve performance and content, measure advertising, and identify technical or security problems.
Newsletter marketing is separate from project communications. Submitting a project inquiry does not subscribe you to our newsletter.
Telephone calls
We record calls to help improve our communications. Recordings may contain your voice, contact information and the project details discussed during the call. For questions about a recording or to request an alternative way to communicate, contact marketing@fleng.com.
Forms, files and payments
Our contact and project-support pages use Jotform to receive submissions and attachments. Information entered into those forms is processed through Jotform and made available to our team. See Jotform’s privacy policy. Completed order forms and supporting documents may also be sent to the email address provided on our order page.
The Customer Payment Portal links to a BluePay-hosted payment form. Information you enter there is processed by the payment provider under its applicable privacy notice and terms. Use that portal for payment details instead of our general contact or support forms.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Google Analytics cookies are enabled by default for visits Google identifies as coming from the United States. Outside the United States, analytics cookies remain off until you allow them. Google applies this regional default through its consent settings; this site does not use a separate geolocation service for the cookie panel. Your saved analytics rejection takes priority over the regional default.
Advertising and other optional tracking remain off everywhere until you allow that category. Use to control Google Analytics cookies, advertising and other optional tracking, and external content separately. “Keep analytics choice; no advertising” preserves your existing analytics choice or the regional default. “Reject all optional cookies” turns analytics cookies and the other optional categories off. You can still browse and use our forms.
When analytics cookies are off, Google Analytics may still send limited cookieless measurements, including consent state and information about a page visit, to Google. Turning off analytics cookies is not a promise that no data is transmitted or that a visit is anonymous. Browser restrictions and blockers can limit measurement. We use Google Analytics for website usage and referral information; Google Search Console supplies aggregate search-query data, not a record connecting each individual visitor to a Google search phrase.
Choices are saved in your browser for up to 180 days. An existing saved rejection of the previous combined analytics and advertising category continues to reject both categories; an existing acceptance retains its original scope and expiry. You can change those choices separately. Clearing storage or using another browser can remove saved choices, after which regional defaults apply. If the browser cannot save a choice, we display a message explaining its limited persistence.
When your browser sends Global Privacy Control, this site does not load Google Analytics or other optional tracking tools and keeps analytics and advertising permission off. External maps and videos have their own control. Live chat loads when you click “Chat with our team,” independently of these cookie choices.
Changing or withdrawing permission updates consent settings. Some withdrawals reload the page to stop previously loaded optional tools; choosing the regional default after an explicit analytics choice also reloads the page. We try to remove relevant first-party cookies when you turn a category off. This cannot remove data already received by a provider or cookies on a provider’s own domain.
Our website uses cookies, tags and similar technologies. Depending on the tool and your settings, information processed can include your IP address, browser and device details, referring page, pages visited, on-site search terms, clicks, scrolling, timestamps and cookie or device identifiers. A provider may be able to associate identifiers with other information it holds.
Google Analytics, Google Ads and Tag Manager
Google Analytics measures website use. Google Ads and advertising-related tags remain subject to your advertising choice. Tag Manager manages some website tags. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and review Google’s advertising choices.
Microsoft Clarity and other optional tracking
The “Advertising & other optional tracking” category also controls Apollo visitor identification, the OpenAI advertising pixel, Microsoft Clarity interaction insights and newsletter integrations. Clarity can process clicks, scrolling and browsing activity to provide usage metrics, heatmaps and session replays. It stays off until you allow this category. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Allowing this category does not subscribe you to a newsletter.
Apollo and OpenAI advertising
Apollo’s website visitor tracker supports identifying visiting companies and, depending on provider settings, contacts for prospecting and marketing. The OpenAI advertising pixel measures advertising-related visits and configured actions, including our existing thank-you-page event. These scripts load only after you allow Advertising & other optional tracking. Rejecting that category keeps them off. They may process visit information and identifiers; allowing them is separate from Google Analytics cookies.
Maps, videos and external tools
Embedded Google Maps and YouTube videos load when you allow External content and can send information to their providers. Live chat is provided through LiveChat; messages and information you submit are processed to respond to your inquiry. External calculators, social networks and other linked services have their own notices. Selecting a social-sharing link opens the relevant provider.
Browser cookie controls and provider settings can limit some collection. Blocking cookies may affect features and does not necessarily stop all processing. Private browsing does not make your visit anonymous to website or embedded-service providers.
Information provided to service providers
We do not sell customer or contact information or share customer/contact lists with advertisers. This does not mean that no information is processed by third parties: our website uses the providers and tracking tools described in this notice.
Information is processed by the providers involved in the features you use, including website hosting, form submission, payment processing, analytics, advertising and embedded content. When you send information to our team, it is also handled through the communication and business systems used to respond to your request. Provider processing and retention practices can differ from ours; review the notices linked above.
Retention and security
Newsletter subscription retention is described above. For questions about retention of an inquiry, project file, payment record or employment inquiry, contact us and identify the relevant record. An unsubscribe request does not automatically delete those separate records. Retention or deletion of professional and transaction records may be subject to contractual or legal obligations.
No website, email service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Please limit submissions to necessary information and contact us before transmitting unusually sensitive material.
Your privacy choices and requests
You may contact us to ask about information you have provided, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have additional rights relating to access, deletion, correction or certain uses of personal information. We may need to verify your identity and relationship to the information before responding, and some records may need to be retained.
Send your request to marketing@fleng.com. Include enough information to locate your request or project, but do not email identity documents or sensitive account information unless we arrange an appropriate way to provide them.
Children’s information
Our services and website are intended for people seeking professional engineering services, rather than children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review the submission and determine the appropriate action.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our website or information practices change. The latest revision date appears at the top of this page.
